Saturated Fats


How were we conned out of healthy saturated fats? The case against saturated fats was made on one deliberate mis-interpretation of the large Framingham study. Quite recently the director of the study said: In Framingham, Mass, the more saturated fat one ate, the more cholesterol one ate, the more calories one ate, the lower the person's cholesterol..We found that the people who ate the most cholesterol, ate the most saturated fat, ate the most calories, weighed the least and were the most physically active.

So the study showed that you can eat cholesterol and saturated fat and still be one of the light weights who are more active. The additional point about high calories flies in the face of 'expert' advice. A high fat diet will be high calorie because fat is the most energy dense of the macro-nutrients. We feel this one fact underlines just how wrong the food fascists are.
